Bachmann 37-400B

16 Ton Steel Slope-Sided Mineral Wagon
BSC Grey With Load
OO Gauge

Condition  - New

Steel-bodied mineral wagons were developed from the 1930s, with wagon builder Charles Roberts pioneering the slope-sided design. The tippler variant was ordered by Stewarts and Lloyds Ltd, the steel manufacturer of Corby and 700 of these wagons without doors were built between 1939 and 1940. Unloaded using a rotary tippler, the wagons passed to British Steel when the steel industry was Nationalised in 1967, later gaining British Steel Corporation numbers and markings. The tipplers remained in use as late as 1981, when steel making at Corby ceased.

The distinctive slope-sided appearance is expertly replicated on this Branchline model, which sports double sided brakes and is fitted with 3-hole disc wheels which are of metal construction. Boasting separately fitted brake gear, linkage and hand brake levers, the model also comes fitted with metal buffer heads and cosmetic coupling hooks. Authentic colours and typefaces are employed during the livery application prototype, completing this high-fidelity model.
