Whilst many of these wagons were perfectly suited for their intended purposes, BR identified a need for a purpose-built wagon to transport powered goods, such as cement, which previously were transported in bags in vans.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo, in 1954 the first ‘Presflo’ (short for pressure flow) was built, which utilised the science of air fluidisation, a process which pumps air into the powder to prevent clumping and keep it loose, allowing the powder to be drained from the wagon efficiently. The design was very successful and lasted well into the 1980’s, finding use on different traffic flows up and down the country. This particular model depicts a ‘Presflo’ in BR Bauxite livery with ‘Blue Circle Bulk Cement’ company boards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Bachmann Branchline ‘Presflo’ tooling suite comprehensively covers the history of these wagons, allowing us to produce a variety of different Presflo types.
